Our second full day at camp! (Thursday)

We started our day with improved cabin inspection scores... 9s and a 10. We are struggling with getting closer to zero waste at meal time; but we are slowly decreasing our waste!  We are so proud of this 5th grade! Today began our second half of the week where jobs were switched out.  If students were a prepper, hopper, dishwasher, recycler, wood carrier, composter, or weather watcher the first half of camp then they are off duty and a new student takes their place. Today's weather was presented by, Layne.  Great job! Today is Choice Day!!!! Students got to choose their 2 investigations today.  One was in the morning from 9:30-1:30 and the other was in the afternoon from 2:30-4:30.  Their choices were:  hiking to Silver Lake, hiking all day which led to cave explorations, canoeing, batiking, disc golf, wild skills, climbing wall, the X-Stream hike, disc golf, candle making, dam building, painting a mural, playing field games, or visiting the Morgan horse farm. We're being well fed with breakfast sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and homemade cookies out in the field, and tacos and cupcakes in the dining hall.  Swimming was definitely the bright spot today as it was their first lake swim of the season...brrrr!  We are ending our last night at Keewaydin  - singing, dancing, and performing.  Once again, our students represented incredible courage!

On our way to Silver Lake... the view of Lake Dunmore!
